Freedom!

The babe has been cut off....he sucketh no more!!!

I am so happy now that I can put Landon to bed without having to nurse him!! He has gone 3 days now and it is great. He sucks his sippy cup great and loves to steal his brothers, much to his chagrin!! He will even drink it if there is lemonade in it. I gave him milk earlier than I did Spencer and unlike his big brother, Landon doesn't spit it out but actually drinks it!!

I am sad that I don't have a baby anymore, but the sadness won't last long!! The fact that someone else can put him to bed and we have a babysitting swap in the works makes the sadness go away. Darin is sure happy about that!

I love Sears Delivery!!

I just wanted to share my great experience with Sears. Our old freezer died and so we wanted a new more space effiecient freezer-the one we had was a dinosaur!! So we ordered one online after weeks of looking at specs, measuring, etc. We ordered it last weekend and picked today to have it delivered. They called us last night and told us it would be here between 9:15 and 11:15. I prayed they would come early because I had a last minute Dr. apt at 10:00, and didn't want the sitter to have to deal with it.

So here's the great part. I got a knock on my door at exactly 9:15 and it was Sears Delivery!!! I was thrilled. It was 2 cute little hispanic guys. They were friendly, quick and efficient, considering they had to take the back door of our house off the hinges to remove our old beast of a freezer!! The had this big harness thing they each put over their shoulders, lifted it up and carried it away. They were so nice and quick!! We chatted a minute and he said they usually have 20 deliveries a day!!

This is the second time this has happened so well-I was almost 8 mos pregnant with Landon when we got a new stove. That time they came 10 minutes early!!

Thank you Sears for great delivery service!!

Good Day

Today was a great day starting at 5:55 am!! Spencer woke up having a dream that someone was stealing his granola bar....he was mumbling so I put him in our bed and he went back to sleep. I got up and got ready to go on a walk outside. I am happy that it is getting nice outside, so I can do my morning walks outside. It was crisp and cool and the birds were chirping away. I really enjoy walking at that time-I can just think and no one is demanding anything of me-well, except my thighs....

We met a really good friend at the park a little later and played for a while. It is so nice to be able to be outside...the kids really love it. After we took Jordan to school, Spencer and I spent some time outside. I did some digging in the dirt-which I really love, and Spencer was enthralled with all the worms I was coming across. I got rid of some old plants and am excited to get some new flowers when my tulips are gone. I planted some cute little violas I left in the pots all winter. The roots are probably so much happier now.

Darin got home early and picked Jordan up from school. She loved it-it's so much more fun to have daddy pick her up. He had a mystery shop to do for dinner, so I suggested going to a park near the restaurant. At first he fave me a look of "do we have to," but then agreed to go. We got to the park and much to my chagrin they had taken out the big playstructure. We haden't been there since last year. Anyway we made the best of it and had so much fun.

At one point I was holding Landon, and Darin was pushing Jordan and Spencer at the same time on the swings. I just sat and watched. They were both laughing and loving it. They were playing a counting game with Darin...anyway I just looked at the 3 of them and thought to myself "they are mine...they really are mine....I am so lucky. " They also had this big long bouncy balance beam type thing and our whole family played on it together. At that time I felt like that was what life was about-being with your family and feeling joy. What a blessing my family is!!

Thank you Darin for taking us to the park even thought it wasn't your first choice to spend the evening.

So, now Darin just came in the door from checking the church, so what better way to close a good day than a small dish of blackberries-n-cream ice cream!!!

I love to see the Temple

Yesterday I had the most wonderful treat. I was able to go to the temple!! Darin had a meeting out of his office, so he came home after so I could go. He went back in January, but I wasn't able. I have been desiring to go for so long....needless to say it was a heavensent day. I took Jordan to school, then dropped the boys off. It was a nice drive listening to music and singing a long. So nice that I passed the exit. I was a small bit annoyed because I had a time crunch, but then was grateful because in backtracking to the temple, I got to see the wonderful view of the temple rising straight ahead fo you on the beltway. It has been a long time since I saw that. It is quite a site, and I loved it. Sometimes missing your turn can have a good consequence!! I love daffodils!! They are one of my favorite flowers. I grew to love them so much on my mission-daffodils grow everywhere in England. I saw them every day there, so now I really love them.
Here's my try at a self portrait!!!

So my day in the temple was great!! I have been feeling overwhelmed and discouraged lately, so I have needed an extra boost of the spirit for a long time. Thanks to Darin's hard work we have family file names from my family, so I was doing the work for my great great aunt....my grandfather's sister...is that relation correct....anyway it was someone with my mom's maiden name: Satterthwaite. Can you pronounce that! Interesting thing as well is that her name is exactly the same as a cousin...Helen Elizabeth. I don't think my aunt realizes that, but it was interesting.

I really felt the spirit really strong and was able to sit in the celestial room for as long as I felt. Man....as I type this I can feel the same spirit I felt yesterday-quite amazing.....I read some scriptures and felt some things that Heavenly Father wanted me to know. It is really hard at home with the chaos of 3 little ones to concentrate on feeling the spirit, but in the celesial room it is such a sweet feeling. I felt that Heavenly Father knows my struggles and heartaches as I feel them and wanted me to know that I shouldn't let Satan try to stop me from doing what I know I needed to do. Did you know that Satan doesn't want us to suceed.....I guess I forgot and was remined that he works on us daily. Well now I know and can certainly do something about it. It is humbling to know that what I do as a mother is the most important thing in the world and Satan knows the potential of my children....makes me want to work much harder.

I could go on and on about the temple. I just have to express my gratitude to Darin for giving me the chance!!! I even went to the bookstore after and each time we spoke on the cell phone he was calm and positive so I never felt a rush to get home...which is what I usually feel. In the car on the way home I was listening to some music about the Savior, so the wonderful spirit just continued....I just loved the whole time!!!

I missed you there next to me Darin, (in the DC temple, the seats are together and a handful of couples in the middle can sit next to each other) but THANK YOU SO MUCH for making it possible to go!!!! I love, love, love you!!

Messy Messy!!

The Maney kiddies really enjoy getting messy!! Here are a few pics of our messy endeavors this week. We did some painting but Spencer doesn't believe in using a paintbrush. He eventually became the canvas for both of them!!
Spencer really loves getting his hands full of paint. It was pretty funny-even when Jordan walked upstairs after I had taken Spencer up for a bath and dripped paint on every step.
Landon is becoming more demanding at mealtimes. He wants to be fed, but also wants to have a spoon and try to feed himself. I just decided to see what he would do when I gave him his bowl and spoon the other day. This is the result!!

Here is Lanny when I gave him the bowl.
Here is Lanny when I took the bowl away and started the clean up process!!!
