Lessons

I learned lots of lessons today, starting very early!! Spencer was in and out of our bed 3 times during the night, and I had to lay with Landon one of the times to get him back to sleep. What do you do when you have 2 kids that want in bed with you.

Here are the lessons:
1. If your husband leaves early for work, don't go back to sleep. Just suck it up and be tired so that you don't oversleep and have to rush to get your 3 children out the door on time.

2. Turn your cell phone on before you leave the house so that when your husband's 8:30am flight is cancelled until 1:45, he can call you to pick him up from the metro and not have to sit at the airport for hours. Sorry Darin....forgive me?

3. When you try to shop for clothes for yourself with your 17 month old, be a little quicker and bring more snacks.

4. When you pick your son up from school and notice that he and his little brother are drowsy, drive around a nice neighborhood and extra 5 minutes so he will fall asleep and take a nice long nap. The boys fall asleep and you can daydream about the house you can have someday.... Thank you Spencer and Landon.

5. Use the boys nap time to your advantage and get some mopping done. But remember the mopping rule: there will be messes instantly when the kids wake up...don't get angry remember that the floor was clean for at least 2 hours!!

6. Invite a friend over to hang out and go to dinner. It is great to have the company and someone for your daughter to do homework with. Lizzy and Jordan had their first study group together and it was so cute...well, until Landon rumpled Jordan's paper...she did finish it later.

7. The next time you go to the noodle company, just order the dang mac and cheese for yourself as well as the kids....you know you want it!!

8. Have a magazine in your bag from now on because when your little boy asks to go to the bathroom in the restaurant, it may take a while:)

8. When you go to WalMart with your 3 children, do not expect it to be easy...it will not be.

9. The next time you order something from Best Buy and your husband leaves the e-mails telling you it is ready to go pick up, don't let the silly employee charge you for something you already paid for because now you have to go back.

10. Pray and give thanks that your husband is here each night for family prayer and to help put your children to bed. (Darin is out of town.)

There you have it... all learned in one day!!!!

Dinner was totally fun! We'll have to do a study group again sometime too.
