We had a wonderful weekend in Lancaster Pennsylvania this past weekend. It is one of our favorite places to go and as always it did not disappoint. Highlights of our trip include:
~Staying in a new motel across the street from our favorite restaurant, Dieners. It has a wonderful breakfast and dinner buffet:)
~Finding a yummy new restaurant called Hershey Farm Inn. It had lots of animals and a pond with geese and ducks-outside of the restaurant, of course:) The kids loved throwing rocks in the water.
~A fun buggy ride through a real working Amish Farm. There was a gift shop with the most amazing quilts...takes the women 300-500 hours to make one...wow!! The kids loved feeding the horses before the ride. Landon practically went under the fence to get close to the horse.
~A fun train ride on the Middletown and Hummelstown Railroad. It was through beautiful country side and there were 2 really cute singing "trainmen." We love riding trains.
~Shopping at our favorite furniture store...always fun to wish for the Amish made furniture I want someday and we love trying out the outdoor chairs, etc.
~Watching out for buggies on the road. The kids always get excited when the buggy is on their side of the road.
~Seeing the beautiful countryside. The farms are amazing and reminds me of where I grew up.
~ A trip to Hershey to go to Chocolate World. Or as Jordan calls it the "Hershey Chocolate Kiss Factory." We love the ride showing how chocolate is made with the free piece of chocolate when you get off. We also had a mission-Jordan has a little friend in her class who had a lunchbox from Chocolate world and we had to find one. Turns out it is what a kid's meal comes in at one of the food place. We were able to buy some without buying the lunch for only $1.99 a piece:)
~The kids love staying in the motel because they get to watch Disney-we saw lots of Handy Manny and Hannah Montana:)
~Eating my favorite: WHOOPIE PIES!! YUMMY!!

More fun on the train. There was a cute lady dressed as Mother Goose, and her husband was the "trainman" There was another cute man who played the accordian and on the ride back they played a bunch of train songs. They were soo cute and great singers.
We saw this man working in the fields on our buggy ride. It amazes me that these farmers handle so many huge horses, plant their fields and do all the work with just HORSES!!!

You missed out on all sorts of good Primary moments...and I really missed looking at you and trying to hold in the laughter while you're cracking up. I'm glad you guys had so much fun! And isn't giving Lanny sprite like adding fuel to the fire? You are brave!
