A fun trip to Utah

We were able to have a nice trip to Utah recently. We had a great time-the children experienced lots of things for the first time, visited friends and family, and just had fun.
Here are fa few highlights fo the first day. This may be a series, since so much happened!! I took so many pictures and love to look at them....sorry, but it is my blog after all. Just look at the pictures if you want an overview.

Lessons learned:
1. Allow yourself more time than you think so you are not running to the gate as they board the plane. Remember at Dulles you have to ride the outerspacemobile to the terminal.
1. Remember to pick up your car seat from the belt at Security so your wife doesn't ask you where it is as you are walking down the jetway.
3. If at all possible, have your carseat on the plane so your very active and smart 3 year old doesn't keep taking off his seat belt.
4. Have a DVD player that works. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU LEA!!!!

We arrived almost very late in Salt Lake Mon night so decided to stay in a hotel. We didn't get there until after midnight, so the kids were so tired. They had all fallen asleep on the plane, so getting to the hotel was a little rough. At one point Darin was getting the bags and I was sitting on a bench with 3 sleeping children. We took a van to the hotel and Jordan cried because no one sat in the back seat with her.

On Tuesday morning we went to the distribution center to get goodies we don't get easily out here, then to a big Seagull Book and Tape. The children weren't in the mood to shop.
Oh, this was after we told Jordan we would get her a pink booster seat, since we left Spencer's at th airport, but they didn't have pink at walmart. She got over it pretty quick.

The following pictures are from our trip to Temple Square. It is so different downtown with the mall torn down. It was rainy while we were there, so Spencer found some good puddles. It quit raining when we were in the car just past the capital. We still had a really nice time, despit having 3 tired cranky kids. The really liked the temple and Christus statue.
We drove up to Ogden to visit some of my friends. I lived in Ogden before Darin and I got married because I had graduated from Weber State. One of my dearest and closest friends and former roommate Amy bought a house right when we got married, so we had a nice dinner in her backyard. The 3 gals from the left all came out to our wedding, and Suzanne who is on the end did all our pictures.
This is Maggie who is one of the best gals ever!! We were roommies in the basement of a house before I moved up with Amy and have been friends ever since. I was so excited to hear of Maggie's engagement and got to meet her fiance, who is equally as nice. He was brave enough to take pictures of my family and was so patient as well.
The guy in this picture is Parker, son of one of my favorite bishops. I met him when he was so young, and now he will be a senior. He is a big Wisconsin/Packers fan, so when he was in 5th grade, I went to his class to help with a report on Wisconsin. It was so much fun-He and his older brother are like brothers I never had.
Amy had an apricot tree and my kids were so amazed. Everyone was complaining about how how it was, and Darin and I were in heaven without the humidity!!
Stay tuned for more adventures in Utah!!
