From across the miles

Today we have our good friend Lizzie over playing. She and Jordan were playing together andf were pretending to deliver valentines to each other. They wanted to deliver one to their friend Maeve who lives in South Africa. We decided to send Maeve and her sister Ruby a message. We really miss their whole family!!

Is Mischief Hereditary?

I am beginning to see the same behaviors in Landon that we have in Spencer and am getting a little nervous about it. He has started crawling and reaches new places-such as the entertainment center where he loves to play with the door and really enjoys pulling videos and CD's out. He also loves the steps and crawls right to them, so we once again have gates up. It is a little problematic when Jordan has to go to the bathroom. For some reason, she doesn't like going upstairs..anyone else partial to a certain toilet?

I don't know what it is about the wipes packages, but all three of my children have loved sitting and pulling them out. I have a pictures of all three of them doing it. Here is the latest installment. I don't know what I will do if I have 2 Spencers to deal with....I guess have lots of fun!!!!Landon dumped the goldfish in the above picture, then Spencer got in on the action.

Recent Develpments

We have a new trend going on in our house now and it is absolutely wonderful!! Landon has now decided that he can sleep all night!!! Now I jsut have to get used to it and stop automatically waking up at 3:00.

We now have a crawler in our house again!! The other morning while I was working out Landon decided he could get the grove on and crawled!! I forgot how exciting it is to see all the milestones come! He does really well in the family room in the basement because it is carpet, but struggles on the wood floor-just goes backwards. It is always a relief to see babies do new things-comforting to know he is developing normally.

Darin and I actually got to go to dinner last week for my birthday. A friend of mine from the ward came and watched the kids for us. We went to the Cheesecake factory and had delicious food. The best part was that I even managed to lose 1.6 lbs this week when I went to Weight Watchers. It is interesting I found a book of my weight loss 6 years ago when I first lost my original 100lbs, and I am only 2 lbs off what I was then. So, I know it is possible to get where I want to be by my anniversary in October. You will all certainly know when that happens!!!

A funny story of February 6 years ago. It was when the Olympics were in Salt Lake. Darin and I were dating, and he came out to take me to some events. We went to a Hockey game and Mens figure Skating. He was there for my birthday and Valentines. He gave me this huge sugar cookie bouquet for Valentines. I maneaged to eat it all when he left and gained over 4 lbs that week. He hasn't given me that kind of gift since then!! I just can't believe that was 6 years ago....time sure flies ...now we are married with 3 kids....I don't think Darin had that on his mind in Feb of 02!!

to smell or not to smell

So, you are pretty proud of yourself because you are now making time to work out, even if it means that you work around the schedule of 3 small children. So, today the baby is asleep and you decide to do your workout. The kiddies are set up watching nick Jr. on the computer. The workout is going well, about 1/2 over. You watch your little boy concentrate as he leans over the chair and all of a sudden the smell is ......well...you know. It happened to be the worse smelling diaper in months. Do you stop to take care of him, or keep going? That is the question of the day.

For your info, I kept going to not break my stride, amidst phone calls, smelly diapers, and the doorbell with valentine wishes 30 seconds before the video was done..Diaper was changed very quickly after!!

Maybe I won't be so guilty about eating the cheesecake we brought home from The Cheesecake Factory last night!!!

Gratitude

I wanted to share some things I have been thinking about lately. Here is a list of things that make me grateful.
1. Watching Jordan play with all her friends. At 4 1/2 years old she has quite a social circle!! The moms are pretty great as well.
2. A great hustband who takes great care of us.
3. I really have wonderful friends. I can call to chat, talk about kids, share frustrations, get favors, get babysitting, and the list can go on.
4. toothbrushes and toothpaste-especially first thing in the morning. Something I have to introduce to my daughter. Can a 4 year old really have morning breathe?
5. living in a free country-even though I had 2 calls from campaigns during dinner-at least we do have real elections.
6. scrapbooking-great to do while watching TV, although Darin doesn't see how it is relaxing.
7. Karin and Marion-my friends who live in Boston
8. Having a car to drive and a house to live in.
9. watching my children play together and sceme to do naughty things. It really is cute to see them sneak off together.
10. Darin has a nice job with great hours-he's home by 4:30 most days.

One healthy child, two very naughty ones!!

Here is why there are 2 naughty children in my house this week!! My little darlings found a pen and despite the many warnings to write on paper only, they felt that the couch needed some decorations. I guess I learned my lesson about running out to check the mail.....Needless to say I was very upset. Mostly because Darin is always telling me to put my caps on my pens and put them away.
So, my next question was do I have faded ink marks on my couch or do I have slightly faded leather. I had a cleaner that got some of the ink off, and another cleaner that got it all off but left the couch slightly faded. I oped for the later option because if you don't know what you are looking for, you don't really see it....Ugh...Ugh...Ugh...
I had the kids try to clean it a little...they thought it was fun. Not really what I wanted them to think.
Although they were not happy because they had TV taken away the rest of the day-and it happened at noon!!
And here is my one healty child-with his sister's backpack on. She thought it was funny. Landon was 9 months old on Monday, so he visit our favorite Dr. Lin. We have a really cute pediatrician. He weighs in at 21lbs 5 oz, (7o%tile) and is 30 1/2(97%tile) inches long!! He is pretty healthy!! Jordan was very into the exam and had to be right with the Dr. who had tons of patience to let her use the the stethoscope, etc. She was quite concerned when they took a blood sample from his toe to check for anemia. Also when he had his second flu shot. I was singing to him during the shot and he barely cried!!! I did learn that I will never take all 3 kids to the Dr. without Darin ever again. He has a class this week and couldn't come. Spencer was mister menace-he kept turning the light off when the Dr. was in the room, running around, etc. I will make sure Darin can be home with kids for all future visits, and will take them all alone for checkups!!!
