Nebulizer treatments

Life is full of new experiences and this week has surely been one. For some people, this may be old hat, and not really worth doing a post about; however for us, it is our third child and the first time it has been necessary. Worth documenting for us.

After we got home from the doctor we quickly got into the regimen of the breathing treatments for Lanny. The first few went really well. He just sat nicely on my lap. The first time Spencer and Jordan saw it, they were fascinated. We cannot start one until they are right there.

Here is the first time Spencer saw the treatment. I was doing a treatment when Darin came home from work and he said it reminded him of and oxyen mask dropping down on a plane. He started to mimic a flight attendant..."the bag will not inflate....etc."
The second day, Landon decided to reject his wonderful mask and it got harder. It hasn't been too much fun waking up in the middle of the night, either. Espcially since Landon has been sleeping. I tried just holding the mask over his face the first night, but standing over the crib was not fun. Last night I just scooped him up and sat him upright on my lap and he did not even wake up. I think it worked better that way anyhow. So, we will do that again tonight. One more day of it, then hopefully Monday morning he will be better when we go to the doctor. He has to be ok to go on a plane on Thursday for our trip to Utah!!

Yeah - fighting kids to keep the mask on is a trial. AND the older they get - the stronger and smarter they are... Good luck! He will get better soon!
